With support of the Myanmar Ministry of Culture and Department of Archaeology, World Monuments Fund lecture series at Jefferson Center returns with Brian Ridout of Ridout Associates, a British scientist conducting a wood conservation assessment for the Shwe Kyaung restoration project.
Dr. Ridout specializes in the scientific assessment of timber decay, termites and other damp related problems in historic buildings. He has been involved in a wide range of projects including royal palaces, urban regeneration of large industrial buildings in major United Kingdom cities as well as international projects including: The Golden Temple of Amritsar, India and heritage buildings in Bahrain, Vietnam, Greece, Turkey and Morocco. Dr. Ridout will present Ridout Associates’ Shwe Kyaung activities in the context of their past and other ongoing work as part of the WMF Jefferson Center lecture series.
