Guys,

If you are asked for a walking tour around colonial buildings in
Yangon, I doubt that you won't bring your guests to Pansodan Road
where you can stroll on 100 feet wide road seeing High Court,
Tele-communication office etc., .

Last Sunday (2 days ago from this writing), 2 different tourist groups
were witnessed "hostile behavior" towards their guides before Passport
Office known as Ma Na La office.

One of tourists seemed to have taken a photograph of the office
*(perhaps). So the officer came upon and asked to delete it
immediately. The lady guide tried to explain to guests and asked her
guests to delete it. Same thing happened to the other group on the
same day.

The officer did not only threat to their license (saying he'll report
to Tourism Ministry), but also behave so aggressively that group of
tourists noted.

So pls be careful, when you are walking to the road with tourists. If
possible, avoid it.

All the best!

Tom, I don't think this is the only and one classic issue of pre-election impact. I have heard some guides suffer from the same thing. Only the difference here is that we voice it out here and they don't. Cheers!!!

Mates, I don't think there 'll be any official issue on that we must
me much aware of that thought!!!. Nyi Nyi's advice ought to be taken
in order to avoid any unnecessary consequences Especially in this"
Window Period". Be aware of " Time, Place and Objective" is my humble
advice!!

Take care!!!

Hi Ko Nyi Nyi ,

First of all , I would like to introduce myself. I am also a member of
Travel Myanmar Group. My name is Zaw Win Aung ( English & Italian
Speaking Guide ). I observe the post & article from this web
often. But , I didn't do any discussion. Anyhow, for this time I
think , I need to discuss related with this post. According to my
working experience, I think as a qualified tourist guide , He or She
must be aware & need to give information concerning with the places,
where the tourist can take photos and the places they can't. That's
also a task of tourist guide. In this case , if this case, the tour
guide will be gave information in advance. This case won't be
happened. As a tourist who come and visit our " Amazing Country " ,
they should have an opportunity to stroll along the downtown area
including Pan So Tan Street. Coz, along the street, they can do the
sightseeing of Old Colonial building & the way of life of the people
from urban area. They shouldn't miss it. Not to take photo of
government building , bridge, the person related with military
etc.,... is 100% responsibility of the tour guide. So, I would like to
suggest all of my working partners is to give information to our
clients at the beginning when we pick up them from Air Port. Under the
section of " Do " & " Don't " in Myanmar. Thank a lots Ko Nyi Nyi for
your kindly reminding to all of us.I am really appreciate your kindly
reminding to all of us.

Best regards,

Zaw Win Aung
