United
We Stand, Divided We Fall
it is not always easy to act united than to say the word itself. From Pyu to Kong Baung, there has been a vivid picture of "grab seat"
culture; a pure power struggle among monarchies; a history of
"separations" or "downfall of kingdoms." From BDA formation
to Pinlon Treaty, history proved
that. Or a history of Unity begins. Or that's how we were educated. Have we
really learned?
Talk
is cheap, so shut up and dance!
Golden policy of being silence is not absolutely ours. Should this be a lie,
Travel Myanmar Group forum would not have come about. We sometimes talk about
things and always share news for the sake of tourism and people involved. When
it comes to "institutional problem" which is National level, what we
can do is to "voice it" in a hope the Responsible/decision makers
aware of it. Six degrees of separation? Connecting dots? This is what it is. As
some of you might have paid attention to some discussions, there were and are
still unsolved problems raised in this group. Hope is that we can find
"ways" to approach properly in the name of Parliament. This time
then, we shouldn't talk but dance.
No one is above law?
Believing it is not only a very ear-pleasing word, but also it does exist, I
would like to raise a question "Who knows the Law exactly" to
simplify between which is helping and limiting us to develop our professionalism?"
Seriously, no one seems to be careful to enact law in this regard. Let's think
positively! What the President U Thein Sein said is what he really meant. Now
it's time for us to view "tourism law." Read carefully! Suggest!
Discuss! Work! Plead it finally to Parliament. So they can forward. Words are
so cheap here; the price we must pay may get higher. If you say this is not our
business, we are abusing "the use of Parliament" or 2008 Referendum.
Or shall I term this as "abortion of Democracy?" If you disagree at
this stage, what is your point after all?
You are NOT alone!
And it seems we are chasing after smoke, let the fire be ignored. Source of
smoke, is not "Guides are problematic" but the type of association
itself. MTGA is one out of eleven
under MTB. Some issues that were discussed or have been discussing, are
fundamental but can be amended in no time. There are so many issues as in UMTA, MHA, and
transportation sectors. UMTA has/had constitutional problem since it was
formed. Not every travel agency become member of the association as it was
supposed to be. UMTA must enforce the travel agencies as MTGA must do to its
guides. MHA had/has no capability of standard/official "Star Rate"
system, "payment," Standard Operating Procedure" and so forth. Transport
sector is worse. It's all chaos. Among all these things, most of us are
interrelated each other. We must not or can't stand alone. Collaboration is
greatly needed. If you see this long journey, pack your bags carefully what to
put in and what to put off! Get the Right Ticket and let's GO!!!!
