Bishop, the sealant around the of the roof is cracking, as Ronnie
noticed last year. What is the best way to remove the existing
sealant, and are there any tricks of the trade in replacing it? Thanks,
Al

Al,
The removal of roof sealant is never fun. It basically comes down to
good old fashion elbow grease, a good stiff 2" putty knife and a 60-70
degree day. Colder and it's like a rock, warmer and it's like snot. I
am hearing more and more about sealing roofs with Eternabond. It's
really well made roof tape. Something to think about I suppose.

Al and Bishop'
I put the eternabond on our 41ft mid-engine and could not be happier. It took care of our leaks and should last for many years.

Bishop and John, thanks for the replies. I have been researching the
Eternabond tape and it looks like the best way to go.

John, what did you use to prepare the roof surface?

Al, looks like you're NOT going to be able to do this for a while...at
least you have an excuse until the weather warms up. Too bad! LOL!

Al, scrape the old off as Bishop discribed. clean surface with lacquer thinner. If temp is below 50F, you need their primer. Call etrnabond for more detailed instructions. 1-888-336-2663. I think you will me more than happy with this product.

John, did you use the 2" or 4" wide tape?

Thanks, Al
