How a person wishes to travel in India is an individual preference, every traveler has a very specific preference for their ideal tour. For instance, for some travelers, private tours to India would be preferable while others may prefer group tours.

Here are a few pros and cons of private tours & group tours for your reference:

Private Tours

Pros:

1. Private tours to India allows you to choose exactly what you want to do and when as opposed to group tours where all travelers have a fixed schedule to stick to. On a private tour, a traveler doesn’t have to follow any time table as it allows complete flexibility in their schedule.

2. Every traveler is different when it comes to the amount of time they wish to spend at a certain site. While some would like to spend more time experimenting with local cuisines or indulge in shopping. Hence, private tours to India allow the traveler to have complete control over their time as opposed to group tours.

3. Private tours are also useful for those travelers who need exclusivity as opposed to a group tour where each traveler has common services. For instance, people on group tours will not get personalized attention from the guide as he/she will be addressed to a large group of people whereas in private tours the guide appointed will completely be reserved for you.

Cons:

1. The difference between the two is that private tours to India may seem a little costlier than group tours. But in actuality, the traveler will get exclusive services and complete flexibility by paying a little extra on a private tour.

Group Tours

Pros:

1. One advantage of group tours is that they are less expensive than private as discounts are often available for larger group tours.

2. Group tours allow travelers to socialize more than you would have on private tours. Group tours bring together like-minded people seeking to explore a destination and forging friendships among each other.

Cons:

1. In a group tour, itineraries of group tours are usually fixed and cannot be changed for any individual’s preferred activities and locations of the tour.

2. Unlike private tours, travelers will not be given a personal guide in group tours. There will be a tour manager assigned to the entire group who will be in charge of taking care of everyone in the group.

So, it is completely a personal choice whether you go for a private tour to India or invest in a group tour. If you ask me I would prefer private tours as it will give me more freedom to explore the destination at my own pace and make choices of sites I want to visit and activities I want to indulge in.
