Hey Charles,
Thanks so much for helping with this. See following announcement that ran a week ago in IASWR listserv –
So`Nia
call for papers and book reviewers: For the Journal Traumatology
Deadline:
http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tmt
Traumatology is currently seeking book reviews and book
reviewers of books related to trauma and/or violence in all populations.
Guidelines:
An abbreviated book review is normally a paragraph and intended for books that
are less central to the focus of the Journal but of some interest to most of
the readership.
A full book review is normally for one book or monograph or several that focus
on the same general area such as traumatized children. The length varies but is
often between 750-1000 words. Rather than just a summary of its content,
reviews should be an engaging, informative, and critical discussion of the
book(s) and follow these guidelines:
Please include the answers to the following
questions:
- Who is the intended audience for the book? Who would find it useful?
- Who is the author/editor; their background?
- What are the main ideas and major objectives of the book?
- How effectively these are accomplished?
- How would you rate the soundness of methods and information sources utilized
in this book?
- How does this book compared to others like it?
- What constructive comments can you make about the book’s strength and
weaknesses?
- What are the implications of the book for research, policy, practice, and
theory?
- The structure the header of your review as follows:
- Author(s) or editor(s) first and last name(s) (please indicate if it is an
edited book)
- Title of book
- Year of publication
- Place of publication
- Publisher
- Number of pages
- Price (please indicate paperback or hard cover) if available
- ISBN
At the end of your review, please include:
- Your first and last name
- Institution affiliation
- A brief biographical note along the line of: ___________ received his
(degree) in (field) from….He is currently….Where he teaches/conducts
research/practices in….His interests include…etc.
Please use the current APA Manual of Style and submit your review at the Sage
Publications Manuscript Central at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tmt.

Hi So'nia,
Welcome back. Great about the call. Excellent idea. Yes, there are several. One
of the most important is trauma psychology with a 1K membership that includes
social workers.
Send me the announcement and I will forward with your return address to
volunteer to review.

Okay. Got it. I have been at a training the since Sept. 13 and just returned to N.O. last night. I'm trying to catch up on emails. I'll take care of the review this week. Did you get the email I sent on an announcement in a couple of social work/research listservs? It was a call for book reviews. Do you have any suggestions for other listservs (psychology or trauma-related, colleagues) I might contact to get the word out that we are looking for book reviews? I welcome any suggestions. I will be following up with the graduate student who contacted us about 4 months ago. He agreed to review a book I sent to him in May.
Thanks,
So`Nia

Hi So'nia,
Here is a review that I commissioned myself. I am happy with it. It is now in your hands.
Ron, she may be asking you for more information (contact info, etc.) and to sign and return a permission form.
All the best,
Charles
