Please take a moment to read the information for your child's grade level!

6th Grade Students and Parents:
I would like to take a few minutes to encourage everyone that is currently in 6th grade band to continue to play your instrument during 7th Grade. You have heard the 7th and 8th Grade Bands and you know how great they sound! Next year that will be you! If you think that you have grown as a musician, student and person through your experience in band, then you should be a part of our group next year! Please see the following links on our website for more information on the benefits of being in band!

7th Grade Solo Recital

  • Wednesday, February 16, 2011
  • Students should be working on their solos EVERY day between now and the recital. Students should have their recording downloaded off of the website by the end of today and use it as a resource for practice.
  • Please see the links below for complete information.

Chairs and Challenges
3rd Quarter Chairs have been posted. Some students are happy and some are not. If your child is not happy with their chair, they need to make a plan to earn more points. Points are earned through daily class work, playing tests and performances. The higher the points, the higher the chair. If you child wants to move up right now, they should complete a challenge form and prepare to challenge the person ahead of them. A student may move up several chairs over the course of a few weeks with diligent practice and preparation.
