Welcome to Trash Trip Updates and thank you for joining!

 

To kick things off, let me give you some background on what this is about. Starting in June 2009, I left Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and started heading south; along the way, I have been interviewing people about waste, waste management, and any topics generally related to waste. Why? To gain a perspective on a shared issue… how do we handle that which we consider to be unfit for use?

 

This, of course, is a loaded topic (no pun intended) and is multi-faceted, as you may well know. Since you’ve joined this group, I’m assuming you have an interest in this and, thereby, an opinion as well; your opinion may be developed, after years of direct involvement, or it may be a newly-discovered opinion, seeking insights. I hope to provide some additional insights, to old and new, as well as compare my findings.

 

In the end, I want to create a series of podcasts, summarizing my findings and presenting them in a way which I hope is “palatable” to those who are not necessarily interested in this topic. We’ll see how that goes. Meanwhile, I’m traveling along and gathering people’s comments about how they see things happening now and in the future. I welcome anyone’s comment, contacts, and questions.
