The tricky part is that the original subtitles need to be in your target language/dubbed in your target language ( in this case, Italian), and the machine translations are aids for you to better understand your target language by being in the language you know most fluently.
I am a Korean Language learner who focuses on the content exclusively original in my target language (Korean). However, recently, I messed around with having some Netflix shows dubbed in Korean, and I still have my TL subtitles (for Korean) available to me using that method, too.
Hey everyone, I have some good news and bad news, the good news, I found a raw site that contains the complete episodes of the original Pokémon series before the Advanced Generation era, the bad news nobody give subtitles to them even the fan sub ones, so I am writing this thread hoping someone will give fansub or subtitles to those episodes so that the whole original Pokémon episodes (Pre-Adanced) will be complete and hope it will air on some anime sharing sites.
I wrote a js snippet to show/hide the subs permanently. But i was able to do it only for the whole / both subtitles at once. I failed to have one just for the top subtitle and the bottom subtitle each.
I followed your steps - downloaded MKVToolnix, opened MKVMerge GUI. Opened the mkv file produced by handbrake, and implemented the settings above. Remuxing took just minutes and the result worked as expected - selectable subtitles!
I scratched my head for days on this, and finally remembered the whole zlip thing, so ran the video through mkvmerge, and zlib compressed the subtitles and now I can play the movie and watch subtitles!
Currently, it seems that when a video is exported, the new product does not contain any subtitles.
This makes sense, and perhaps I am incorrect in thinking that this would be a well recieved and used feature, but if I am hoping for this feature, then likely some others are too.
I use FFMPEG (FileFlows) to take my videos through a flow which strips them of undesired audio streams and subtitles, and keeps only the desired ones, then finally reencoding and producing a new video with only the desired video, audio, and subtitles, perhaps it might be possible for Video AI to also include at least a subtitle passthru, so as not to strip them of the subtitles present in the original video, or at least to copy the original subtitles and to add them again to the produced video?
As the lines between subtitles and captions continue to blur, perhaps none has become more confusing than the difference between subtitles for the d/Deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) and closed captions (CC).

HD disc media, like Blu-ray, does not support traditional closed captioning but is compatible with SDH subtitles. The same goes for some streaming services and OTT platforms. That being said, some classic captioning formats, like SCC, have proven to be versatile across television and digital formats.
To change the default subtitles language in Settings, go to Settings > Video and Audio > Audio > Subtitle Language, then choose the language that you want. If you don't want automatic subtitles and you're using an Apple TV, go to Settings > Video and Audio, then turn off Automatic Subtitles. If you're using a smart TV or streaming device, go to Settings > General, then turn off Automatic Subtitles.
If you don't see subtitles or language options, they might not be available for that show or movie. Check the show or movie descriptions page in the Apple TV app to find out what subtitles or languages are available.
PLEASE NOTE: This version of the film is the original JAPANESE language audio with English subtitles. The 7:50 pm showing is the ONLY time this version of the film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles. All other showtimes are normal English dialog with English speaking Actors.

But there is one downside to this: I have to write the output name manually. In a batch, you don't know if the subtitles are .srt, .ass or maybe even a different format, so writing blindly subs.srt does not sound like a good idea.
There is no mkvextract subtitles as mkvextract considers the subtitles as part of tracks. So if track order is messed up and subtitles is not the 3rd track, using a similar command with mkvextract won't work.
Basically, captions are speech to text access in the same language to deaf people with additional accessibility elements while subtitles are translations from one spoken language to a written language native to hearing viewers and not fully accessible to deaf people.
So I prefer to hear, lipread, and read captions in the same language. I prefer to access the original content whenever possible if I happen to know the original language. When I read subtitles, not only it gives me cognitive dissonance but also gives me a different feeling that may be lost in translation. Translation to another language may not accurately describe the feeling in the original language.
Those lines at the bottom of our screens have become the gateway into a whole new slew of content in an array of languages. For language learners, these subtitles might help them enjoy a new show in their target language!
Even more important than the timing of subtitles is the way that they reflect culture. Eva says the first step is to understand the core intent of the dialogue and represent it in a way that makes sense to the audience.
THEN cut it according to the piece of the movie (or subs) you want to cut:(The subtitles that way are cut on perfect timing like in complete orig. video with ext. subs, other ways gives timing errors.)

I feel for you, the thing is PS2 and GOws didn't have the subtitles, and the makers wanted to stay true to the originals. Still they could have added them.

After dozens of hours of printing and everything was fine, I decided to clean the printer, lubricate and strengthen and the like. Somehow the LCD display appears 2 lines with the boxes without subtitles. I tried to check if the LCD cables are well connected.- Yes well connected. So I downloaded and updated. The software says it worked well. But do not see the subtitles. What to do?
