My first very short (5 minute) 4k movie attempt fails to render to mpeg-4 giving error message "Failed on reading Video" after 2%. Another attempt to make an avi file gave the same error but DID convert clip 1 only to the destination folder. I haven't attempted writing to a disc yet.
This is the first time I have used Ultimate X9 (after using 7 quite happily). I purchased to VS 9 utilise 4K .mov files from my JVC GY-HM170 camcorder so naturally I am more than disappointed. In addition, despite smart proxy being enabled, playback in the program is VERY broken and out of sync. Playback via the program is showing something like every tenth frame and the playback point indicator skips and judders across - transitions are impossible to view. Computer is windows 7 home premium 64 bit with core i7 processor and 16 Gb RAM. Subsequently I installed servicepacks 1 and 2, unfortunately in the wrong order as the update in the program gave no indications and I found them online in the wrong order!

QuickTime error 2048 can arise when you cannot play your videos due to virus infection, inappropriate video codec, technical fault in firmware, or your player is outdated. You can fix this error by changing the file format, updating video codecs, or reinstalling QuickTime Player.

The error 0xc00d36c4 indicates your video player does not support the file format or the supporting codec is absent. Try playing the video in a different media player like VLC Player, which usually plays most video file formats. Convert the video file to your player-supported format or install the missing codecs. Another quicker way to fix error code 0xc00d36c4 is simply using the Stellar Repair for Video tool. It is safe and quickly fixes all types of corruption in video files.

Next, I brought in my test system with an old 20GB maxtor drive and a WD120GB drive. I installed to the second drive no problem! Exact same ECS 755-A2 but rev 1.0a with the LiteOn drive and 256mb of cl 2.5 pny ram and it installed fine. For the record this test system with xp sp2+ (all patches and updates to Aug 2006, except WGA, DOES have nero 6.6 ultra installed and ulead video studio 7 & 9 and a bunch of other apps so I think it is safe to say Nero and Roxio etc are not the issue.

Hi again,
Well I downloaded the two suggested programs. I uninstalled MP4 Splitter from DirectShow and installed Haali Media Splitter. I still get audio with Media player and in Preview, but I also still get the same "the graphic manager won't talk to me" error. I tried using the MP2 audio setting and it didn't make any difference.
