We are happy to announce the launch of the Early Access Program for YourKit Java Profiler 2018.05, the next major update of YourKit Java Profiler.

The EAP builds and list of changes are already available for download at https://www.yourkit.com/eap/

MOST NOTABLE CHANGES AND NEW FEATURES IMPLEMENTED SO FAR:

• Java 11 supported.
• Memory profiling: an alternative implementation of object allocation recording based on "heap sampling", the new Java profiling capability introduced with JEP 331 in Java 11.
• IBM's https://adoptopenjdk.net OpenJDK builds based on the Eclipse OpenJ9 VM as well as on HotSpot are supported.
• Attach mode supported for modern IBM JVMs.
• Event recording with probes: Probe overhead significantly reduced for some loads.
• Improvement: the profiler UI now shows time in 12 hour (AM/PM) or 24 hour format depending on the system settings.
• Many other bug fixes and performance improvements.
