hello villagers,
Please join Troy Bike Rescue, Capital Roots, Transport Troy, The Bike Barn and capital region bicycle enthusiasts for a spring fun ride on one of Troy's somewhat hidden urban trails - The Uncle Sam bikeway ..... and beyond.
This is not a high-paced cycling event. It is a family-friendly group ride geared towards exploration, safe riding, and fun.
Meet in the Capital Roots Parking lot
594 River St. in Troy
11:15 am for bike checks
12pm ride
There will be a beginners' and intermediate versions. (see below for some more details) Both rides will leave from the Capital Roots parking lot at 12pm. You do not need to choose ahead of time. Just show up, and ride what ya feel! The rides will be guided, Troy Bike Rescue members will be on hand for minor mechanical assistance, and some refreshments will be provided.
BEGINNERS/EASY RIDE (3 to 7 miles - ride what you want)
>> Leave from Captial Roots with the big group
>> Travel up Middleburgh to the Uncle Sam Bikeway
>> Cycle the Sam! out to 125th (or as far as you want) and back
INTERMEDIATE RIDE (approximately 12 miles)
>> Leave from Captial Roots with the big group
>> Travel up Middleburgh to the Uncle Sam Bikeway
>> from the north end of the U.S. Bikeway, head across the river to Waterford and explore more sections of trail including the Old Champlain Canal Trail, and The Black Bridge.
