Hi,
        How "No Known Allergies" and "Allergy Unassessed" entry nodes are represented in CCD XML. Do both are same or they vary. Please suggest me with a sample entry, i stuck up in middle.

Thanks,

Hi Sash,

HL7 doesn't have an official response/recommendation but they did include an example for 'No Known Medication Allergies' is the C-CDA sample file CCD_2.xml. You can update to generic 'No Known Allergies' by removing the participant.

For the unassessed, I recommend using a nullFlavor of NI unless you know explicitly that the clinician didn't ask.

Hope this helps,
Brett

Hi Sash,

If you have a moment, please post your sample file (test patient only).

I tested with your excerpt in a good sample and didn't receive any errors.

Note, your effectiveTime of "UNK" should be updated to the patient's birthdate, or the time you are asserting no known allergies.

Take care,
Brett

I saw these samples - they are for CCD 1.1 version. You've mentioned above about C-CDA sample file CCD_2.xml - version 2.0, no?

The sample files are included in the HL7 download package at hl7.org

http://www.hl7.org/documentcenter/public/standards/dstu/CDAR2_IG_CCDA_CLINNOTES_R2_D1_2014NOV.zip

HL7 will be updating these with the C-CDA r2.1 release which is planned for August.

Hi,

On further review, I believe this comment is too strong –

C-CDA R1.1 – participant is optional

C-CDA R2.0 – participant is required

This isn’t a ‘conflict’, R2.0 is just more restrictive. I plan to bring up on the SDWG example task force today (12-1) to see what members think about revising our 1.1 sample to include a participant.

Best,

Brett

What does this conflict matter? Can I use these examples for NKA, NKDA in my CDA documents? Corresponds to ( )Transitions Of Care Ambulatory Summary - MU2 170.314(b)(7) Data Portability - For Ambulatory Care in TTT.

This produces error in TTT, so the comment about conflict with guidance from CDA is correct:

<!-- ISSUE This conflicts with guidance from CDA example task force -->
<!-- Code 410942007 would be appropriate for no known drug allergy -->
<code code="105590001" displayName="Substance" codeSystem="2.16.840.1.113883.6.96" codeSystemName="SNOMED CT"/>

Error is:

Think better change this to:

<code nullFlavor="NA"/>

Which is correct.

Hi, Aleksay,

I didn’t realize the validator hadn’t been updated to handle SNOMED here.

This will be supported in a future release, I reached out the developer for ETA.

Best,

Brett

I see, thanks. Then will wait for changes in TTT to use variant with SNOMED.
