To the testing Tool support group
I am attempting to complete the implementation and testing of the direct messaging for my company. I am having a number of issues getting responses from the testing tool (success or errors) to continue this process. I am under a very tight deadline and it is drawing very close.
I will try to summarize here the critical issues first and hope the other ones will be resolved as well.
1. I am sending an email from our software to the testing tool. The email to and from addresses are registered under my work email address on the testing tool site. The logs on my side say that I am sending successfully. I have a MDN logged into the Gateway DirectConfig database. I have success in the SMTP log. And the Gateway log also shows no errors. Why am I not receiving a validation email from the testing tool?
a. My work email which should have the validation report sent to is donna.w...@hcsinc.net. The To email on the message to the testing tool is cc...@transport-testing.nist.gov. The From email for direct is dwhit...@test.hcsdirectmessaging.net.
2. On the testing tool site, there is a tool called View Direct Message status. When I go to this page, there is a testsession ID at the top of the page Somehow (cookie I suspect) it remembers the one I entered. But only the test messages from the tool to me are listed. None of the ones I send to the tool are shown. Am I to add some sort of testsession ID in the header of the message I send to the tool? If so, what is the format? An example?
3. On sending from tool to me, I also get an intermittent timeout error to my smtp server. Can you check the logs on these and see if there is anything indicating what the issue may be? Again this is not a continuous problem…just intermittent.
