I'm pretty sure that Jerry Kieffer has tried to get the relevant
officials interested in a PRT circulator at Tysons for during that
last 20 or so years. He used to live in nearby Falls Church. He might
be willing to provide a review of his experiences on this topic.

This is rare. I think Tyson's Corner would be a fit for PRT. It has the right configuration. I could see dual mode feeding P R T in that location. A trip to the capitol would be a few minutes on dual mode and P R T would let you get around the shops.

Only one problem - most of the shopkeepers I've interviewed would
prefer that their customers not have easy access to their competitors.

I think it is the mall managers who don't want easy connections to
nearby malls. The shopkeepers probably don't have much of a say in
the matter. They just pay high rents and sign massive contracts
periodically and try to stay alive. My interviews were done back in
1976 so maybe things are different now. Several people have tried to
get the Tysons people interested in PRT with absolutely no success,
so far as I know. Why? I don't know.
