Toronto's Transit Argument Continues

The City Council has reverted to the  so-called 'Transit City" plan,  which would put everybody within a 2-mile walk of a streetcar line.  Mayor Ford doesn't like the "war on cars" and wants to build subways.  Only 40% of Council agrees with him.   This man is a mover,  but I don't think he knows anything about the possibilities of newer systems,   and I have not attempted to try to educate him.  A business group is already trying to fight against the streetcar plan,  but the group fighting the St Clair Avenue plan a few years ago got nowhere.  If anybody wants to forward info to him,  or this business group,  I will send contact info. I am thinking of doing this, but it is wide open if anybody else wants to try.   One short line,  anywhere in the City, would be all we need to open eyes.   Jack Slade
