The cost a "person" driven taxi is 72 cents/mile. DL is between $1.58 and $6.01 - along with the elimination of a job.

These guys that are shorting Tesla stock are shamless and proud of it.  Sad.  They really need to get a real job instead of leaching off society.  Self driving rentals will be spare car use not a dedicated fleet of brand new $100,000 cars.  The cost of the hardware over ten years of typical use will drop the real cost of renting spare drive time on your personal car.  This shorter guy is wrong about insurance costs but that is yet to unfold.  Uber works because the cars are well used and paid off by the driver for private use.

MIT students may lack experience in the real world.
