Dear friends,

The Foundation for Democratic Reforms, in association with the University of Hyderabad and Indian School of Business, is organizing a conference on the broad theme of 'Indian Democracy at Work'. The conference is aimed at facilitating dialogue between academics, politicians and civil society organizations, encouraging public deliberation on key issues facing Indian democracy and furthering democratic reform. Could you please help us publicize this conference by circulating this call for papers to anyone you think might be interested?

The focus of the inaugural conference is 'Money Power in Politics' (concept note attached). We invite scholars and practitioners to submit papers on any of the following topics: party maintenance, candidate selection, political campaign expenditure or vote buying. We also welcome submissions that would deepen our understanding of the functioning of Indian democracy and are related to the theme of the conference. At this stage, only extended abstracts need to be submitted. Submissions should be made online at www.indiandemocracyatwork.in/call-for-papers

Important dates:
- Submission deadline: October 23, 2019
- Acceptance notification: October 30, 2019
- Conference: January 9-10, 2020 at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at con...@indiandemocracyatwork.in

Best,
Aaditya
