Chè kolèg, estimad@s colegx, Dear Colleagues,

After much discussion, the TH organizing committee has decided to postpone TH. It will occur June 5-11, 2016, concurrent with the Caribbean Studies Association meetings. Please submit proposals for individual papers, panels, or workshops to CSA by November 1, 2016.

To maximize the number of people who can attend TH events in 2016, to assure long-term support for the TH project, and to facilitate logistical work for TH3, we have decided to hold the next TH conference as a part of the CSA meetings. In fact, we have proposed becoming an affiliated organization and official Working Group with CSA. While we are awaiting formal approval, this would mean that TH could meet as a part of each year’s CSA meetings. Further, this move coincides with the development of an Overseas Research Center, planned to be located in Haiti, which would eventually serve the entire Caribbean. We hope that this move in time and in organizational affiliation will grow the TH community and better connect it with the Caribbean Studies community of scholars.

This means all individual papers, complete panels, or workshops must be submitted to CSA.  You must be a member of CSA by January 15, 2016 and register for the conference by March 1, 2016.

A few practical points:

  1. If you would like to send an individual paper, please submit it to CSA. Send via the CSA website:  http://tinyurl.com/THatCSA.  When you submit an individual paper abstract, we strongly recommend you submit your paper with the title, "Transnational Hispaniola:  (your paper's title)".  This way, the CSA Program Committee knows that you are a part of TH's move to CSA. For consistency of TH submissions, choose “Other engagement with the theme” as the Submission Topic.
  2. If you would like to send a complete panel or workshop, follow the same instructions and link as above.
  3. If you would like to propose a module, please e-mail transnation...@gmail.com and put “Proposed Module” in the subject line.

I am looking forward to seeing you all at the new TH within CSA in Haiti in 2016!

Respectfully,
