Hi,
I want to use the Browse functionality to allow users to access raw data files.  The documentation states that it is possible to ftp files onto the server but it doesn't state where the files should be placed so that the Browse functionality can access them.

I'm currently running v1.2.4.

Many thanks

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

You can upload files by creating a folder and then uploading the files using the browser.

Login as admin.

In the Browse tab, go to the study

Add a folder with type "raw" (the full type will expand automatically)

Add files by clicking in the box and selecting the file(s) to upload.

The file location is set in the server Config.groovy file. By default it should be in ~tomcat7/.grails/ If you find where the files are uploaded you can place them by hand but it will need more work to figure it out (If I recall correctly there is some mechanism to transfer files from transmart-datauploads to transmart-filestore and pick up the study ID and folder name/ID)

An alternative is to upload raw data files so they are available at some URL on the web server, and then into the Browse folder simply upload a document giving the URLs.

Hope that helps

Hi Peter,

I don't get the option to add files.  Looking at the documentation:
it seems like there should be an Associated Files option on the create folder dialog:

but I'm not getting this.  Am I supposed to install a folder management plugin
(re:

in which case how do I do that?

Many thanks

Patrick
