Hi Developers,

After some recent forum discussions on the topic of ns.translink.ca, we feel that providing some additional context would clarify the issue. We also have a potential recommendation moving forward.

The ns.translink.ca historically provided the latest version of GTFS. Although it was never officially communicated as a method of retrieving our latest GTFS (as the official way is via the developer portal GTFS drop-down), we came to realize that developers were calling the direct URL. After our recent GTFS/GTFS-RT update, that URL has since been removed.

We do understand the convenience of having a single URL that developers can use to retrieve the latest GTFS. Therefore, we will soon have a new URL available (possibly as early as next Wednesday) for developers to call to retrieve the latest version of GTFS.

Please let me know if there are any questions or feedback, will be happy to help!

Thanks,
Ben.

Hi Developers,

We have now created a new static URL that will access our latest GTFS static files: http://gtfs.translink.ca/static/latest

Please give that a try and let us know!

Thanks,
Ben.

You read my mind.  I came here to complain but you're already on top of it.

Thank you.

Hi Ben, is the api.translink.ca link still usable? I'm getting a blank page on https://api.translink.ca/rttiapi/v1/stops/60980/estimates?apikey=API_KEY and have to some time. is there another link I should be using for the old api format?

Thanks

Hi Sean, just checked it seems api.translink.ca is good. However, at the end of June, there will be some changes. I would recommend using the "v2" endpoints as the others is scheduled to be retired.

Hi Ben,
I don't see the documentation for the v2 endpoints. I have an application where I want to get the next 3 busses going to a specific stop.

thanks

Shawn
