Dear colleagues,
Michela Baldo and I are delighted to present the exciting new Special issue we co-edited for Forum for Modern Language Studies.
Forum for Modern Language Studies
60.1 (January 2024)
Code-Switching as a Narrative Resource
This special issue explores how code-switching is used to shape and structure the narrative in contemporary fiction. It contributes not only to implement studies of written code-switching by shedding light on a scarcely theorised connection between code-switching and plot construction, but also enriches narratological studies, which have paid scarce attention to the linguistic and translational aspect of this construction. It includes articles written by Rainier Grutman, Christopher Mole, Cecilia Montes-Alcalá, Jonathan Mccreedy, Ian Harvey A Claros, Riikka Ala-Risku and the guest editors on the work of Daryll Delgado, Nancy Huston, James Joyce, Alejandro Morales, Monica Meneghetti and many others.
Best wishes,
Marianna Deganutti
