Hi everyone,

I am working on a project for my Self-Expression/Leadership course
that I am currently taking with Landmark Education and I want to share
it with our group. It will be a wonderful opportunity for us to come
together as a community and offer something to the greater community
of Wrightwood and the surrounding areas.

The possibility that I am creating with this project is to create a
supportive group of people coming together to grow a healthy
sustainable community, living in harmony with each other and our
environment.

The outcome of this project is to raise community awareness and
connections by creating a sustainable, healthy living fair.

Sustainability is community…..

*Sharing resources and reducing waste
*Bartering products and services
*Educating our children
*Supporting and creating local resources
*Inventing new traditions
*Buying products in bulk
*Sharing knowledge
*Having more social and political influence
*Lending each other a hand
*Transforming and healing ourselves and our community

I have some ideas for the fair but I want to create this with all of
you, so let me know what you would like to see at a sustainable living
fair and start thinking about ways that you would like to contribute.
I am planning to have it in the community center parking lot and the
Vivian Null park on August 28th. I will be contacting members and
scheduling a meeting soon!

Peace,

Very ambitious of you!  Would you be interested in handouts from an organization such as The Cancer Project or is that too heavy?  You can look up PCRM.org if you want to know who they are.  Just like you and Ron, I want people to know that they can make a big difference in their health by eating the right foods.  The food demo that you did was so fantastic and I believe that people really do want to know more about healthy food preparation but they think that it is difficult, weird, not tasty etc.  We wouldn't necessarily have the demo at the fair but perhaps have sign ups for a class - or something like that.

I can't wait to hear other peoples thoughts and more of your thoughts.  I have found a couple of good sources for products such as olive oil, macadamia nuts & cashew pieces for the co-op.  Perhaps you would entertain incorporating the co-op into your fair.

Thanks for your love of community,

Donna
