San Francisco Social Movement History Walking Tour
Nearly
all social movements -- from Manifest Destiny westward emigration, the
Mormon hegira, Black Power, the United Nations, LGBT liberation, food
autonomy, and now on to Occupy Wall Street and Stop Bay Area
Displacement -- are at bottom about creating security in geography. Come
along on a
walking tour
of several San Francisco social movements that does more than chronicle the
travails of humanity, but uncovers a thrilling social philosophy which
originated in 1879 San Francisco, and holds astonishing relevance today
for those wishing to live the next economy.
