Award-winning Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources and Ecology,
and Evolutionary Biology, at Arizona University,
Guy McPherson has written over
a dozen books, including
Going
Dark, and
Extinction
Dialogs: How to Live with Death in Mind with Carolyn Baker.
He considers the science clear: we will soon have fouled our nest to
the point where human survival is unlikely to impossible. What is
remarkable is where he goes with that information, and how, without
sugar-coating the facts, he inspires his audiences to "live with
excellence," showing compassion, courage and creativity in the face
of such a terrible certainty.
He will be
touring
California cities, including Oakland, Sacramento, Chico,
Middletown, Sebastopol, Berkeley, Bolinas, San Francisco, Ojai and
N. Hollywood (click on link for more detail) in May 2016, and I
invite you to attend one of his talks.
In Berkeley on Saturday, May 7th, you can hear him from 1:30 - 3:30
pm at West Berkeley Public Library, 1125 University Avenue, followed
by a book signing and fundraiser from 4 - 5 pm at Highwire Coffee
Roasters around the corner at 2049 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley. These
events are offered free of charge but audience donations pay for his
traveling and speaking expenses.
