INSTRUCTORS
Bear Kaufmann: Chief Science Officer at All Power Labs, Bear has a deep interest and knowledge base in energy and sustainable power generation on the individual user scale. He has orchestrated numerous studies on the efficacy of characterized biochar. Bear's main focus at ALL Power Labs is developing control systems, engineering and design review and conducting research to inform and motivate product development.
Amanda Joy Ravenhill: Amanda is the Director of Project Drawdown. She brings her passion and expertise in environmental and social justice to the organization’s solution-based approach to addressing climate change. Prior to Project Drawdown, Amanda was a Professor of Sustainable Business at Presidio Graduate School.
Nik Bertulis: Nik is a designer, builder and teacher who loves making and using biochar. He is currently design coordinator at PLACE For Sustainable Living where he has built char kilns and rocket mass heaters. Nik enjoys studying fire ecology and recently co-founded the California Center for Natural History. He has a B.A.S. in Ecological Design from Colorado College.
