Dear Makers, Artists, & Tinkerers!

We're very excited to introduce a beautiful space that has just opened up again here at PLACE. It is where our wonderful tenants, friends and allies, PLANTING JUSTICE, resided for the past 2 years. We were sorry to see them move, but they needed a larger space.

As a result we now have this 20'x20' brick building next to our FAB LAB a fabrication laboratory, a 30'x20' garage (wood/metal shop) to occupy with new intentions!

We have 2 months (July-Aug) to secure enough membership(bt $50 & 100/month) to support the Makery. We currently have sewing machines, silk screen, arts and crafts supplies, easels and other supplies and are open to other artistic disciplines including ceramics, paint and more.  Come make art in a unique community setting.

Would you like to be involved in birthing this renewed space for the Makery?

SOME ENVISIONING

To build on this cooperative maker space, we'd love to move into a cooperative/membership model. More could benefit with little financial commitment. Also a participatory collective, where, as members or partial members, we could give back to PLACE some volunteer hours: ie: host Craf-tea Tuesdays (either every Tuesday or once a month depending on how many members we find), once a month potlucks, art shows, art bizzares, booth at Maker Faire, Roll into First Fridays or other related events - we have visions of retrofitting a mobile maker mobile - setting up locally at temporary spaces.

ECO-MINDED, ECO-AWARE MAKERS!

As we are a sustainable center and because it is our mission, we are very much interested in folks doing art with environmental awareness, whether through the materials they use, a stance on social-justice, or natural practices such as: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We also strive for diversity and equality here and invite all to come check us out!
