Hello Transitioners!

To start, a big thank you to all those who came out to last week's screening of First Earth. We had a great turn-out, and an even greater post-film discussion (for a wrap-up of the night, check out Sylvie's blog post). There was lots of interest in the room regarding the How-Tos of cob construction. I floated the idea of organizing a TransitionKW cob building workshop (in the Spring, likely), and lots of people seemed excited. If you are interested in being part of this subcommittee, we'd love to hear from you. Some of the things this working group would sort out include: securing a location, what kind of structure to build, when to hold the workshop, and promotion.

Also, this past week Sylvie posted an update about the Climate Change Adaptation Toolkit on the blog. Check it out! We're super excited to launch and share this with the community in the new year!

Mark your calendars for the first-ever Night\Shift this Saturday along Queen Street in downtown Kitchener, beginning at 9pm and running 'til 3am! There's going to be music, art displays, spoken word, and lots more. Check out this website for a full schedule of events.

Lastly, the Transition Families group is going on a guided forest ecology hike on Sunday (Nov 3), from 2-4pm. The group will meet at the Steckle Woods (access on Bleams) at 2pm. As a guide will be leading this hike, space will be limited to ensure that everyone is able to hear and participate. Please RSVP by clicking this link.

If you've got an event you'd like us to promote, tweet us! And if you have friends that might enjoy any of the events listed above, please share this newsletter with them!

Lastly, be sure to check out the new positions posted in the Volunteer Corner below. If you have friends or family that might be interested in these positions, please pass this message along. TransitionKW is a volunteer-run organization - we're always in need of bright, passionate people interested in getting involved!
