SATURDAY WORKSHOPS (North Carolina Central University - Farrison Newsome Building) October 20, 2018 Session 1:...
Rm 2223PM, 20 October 2018, (North Carolina Central University - Farrison Newsome Building) 2018 Black Urban Gardeners ConferenceWe all know somewhere deep inside that it is our own Human Consciousness that creates our reality; that it is the compilation of our thoughts, state of mind and consciousness that actually creates our reality! If we cannot think it, can we create it? Yet, it appears that we remain largely unaware of our own thoughts, state of mind and consciousness which is creating our reality. Nor have we mastered our own minds and the process of creating thoughts and raising our consciousness. And all the while, this consciousness, these thoughts and our minds ARE CREATING our reality. Yes, we are creators, but it might be said that we are unconscious creators actually creating what we do not want! It would thus seem critical to our survival that we learn to raise our own consciousness, heighten and relax our own mind states and raise the accuracy of our thoughts so we can become Conscious Creators of our reality and create the reality we, our loved ones, communities and the world want and need.
This workshop: "Cultivating Consciousness: Is the Food Movement A Spiritual Movement" aims to make one or two small steps toward raising our food movement consciousness by first, gently, making us aware of the nature and presence of Consciousness itself in the room with us as we sit, and how we can become aware of the presence of Consciousness itself at any time, anywhere. Then we will reflect upon and share our experiences of how the food movement itself, our gardening and traditional farming, has been gently and slowly cultivating our own human consciousness! Not only have we been cultivating human food, who knew, but we have also been cultivating our own human consciousness, perhaps even more important than cultivating our own food. We will also reflect upon how these changes in our consciousness, mind state and thoughts have actually impacted the reality of our lives: has our increased calmness and peace of mind improved our relationships, our work, other aspects of ours and others lives? Have we left the garden with deep insights into problems we were facing in our lives outside of the garden which helped us resolve these problems? and so on. We will conclude by sharing how we can continue to "consciously" (with awareness) cultivate our own human consciousness, within and outside of the garden, and improve the reality of our own lives, our families' lives, the lives of our communities and the world.
I invite you to join us in the process of raising our own awareness as to how to cultivate our own human consciousness and create the reality we want and need. Gratitude to BUGS And all who made this event possible!
"I open my heart and send forth my energy of love and understanding to everyone who has made me suffer, to those who have destroyed much of my life and the lives of those I love. I know now that these people have themselves undergone a lot of suffering and that their hearts are overloaded with pain, anger and hatred. I know that anyone who suffers that much will make those around them suffer. I know they may have been unlucky, never having the chance to be cared for and loved. Life and society have dealt them so many hardships. They have been wronged and abused. They have not been guided in the path of mindful living. They have accumulated wrong perceptions about life, about me, and about us. They have wronged us and the people we love. I pray to my ancestors in my blood and spiritual families to channel to those persons who have made us suffer the energy of love and protection, so that their hearts will be able to receive the nectar of love and blossom like a flower. I pray that they can be transformed to experience the joy of living, so that they will not continue to make themselves and others suffer. I see their suffering and do not want to hold any feelings of hatred or anger in myself toward them. I do not want them to suffer. I channel my energy of love and understanding to them and ask all my ancestors to help them."
