Hello all

I wondered if any of you might be interested in a group called GIY. It's a movement about 'growing your own' - small groups / large groups / individuals can contact and be put in contact with others.

Definitely a movement involving groups who want to get on with growing and experimenting without feeling that they have to be  and/or consult experts all the time. I was at a conference in Birmingham a few weeks ago... Extremely friendly and interesting - easy to join. It started in Ireland and is now launching in the UK

While there, I picked up a pack from a PhD student, based at Bangor University, who's topic is tomato blight... Sorry - ! I hope none of you get it - but if you do, please let me know and he'd be very grateful for samples to help in his work - or if you hear of anyone else then let me know.

You may also be interested in signing this petition to oppose Monsanto acquiring patents for naturally grown plants like broccoli? after reading this article on the "no patents no seeds website".  http://www.no-patents-on-seeds.org/en/information/news/monsanto-granted-patent-severed-broccoli

Regards
Mary
