Dear Supporter,
Sorry to be emailing again so soon after our last email, but we urgently need your help.
Last week the Private Member’s Ballot took place in Parliament – an annual event where 20 MPs are drawn from a hat and given the chance to introduce a law of their choice. Your MP Mark Lancaster was one of those drawn.
We are frantically working to persuade Mark Lancaster MP to adopt a new law we have drafted to protect wildlife and tackle climate change, with policies to prevent livestock being reared on feeds grown in areas of cleared rainforest in South America. The damage done to forests not only destroys wildlife habitats and the homes of indigenous people, it also adds hugely to the climate impact of the livestock sector. The UN calculate that almost one in every five tonnes of greenhouse gases emitted globally comes from the livestock sector.
You are one of 177 Friends of the Earth supporters in the Milton Keynes North constituency. We think we need at least half of you to email Mark Lancaster MP to show there is support locally for such a Bill. So far we are well below that.
MPs really do listen to their constituents – your voice is extremely powerful right now. The very best thing to do is to send a personal email to your MP at lanca...@parliament.uk, but if you are pressed for time you can use the link below.

It would also be really helpful if you could send this email to friends, neighbours or family who also live in the constituency and urge them to write as well. The more people who do this the better our chances of getting this vital new law introduced to Parliament.
Many thanks,
Donna Hume

Ps thanks if you’ve taken the action already, please send it on to friends so they can too.
