A standard for sustainable development of communities
A new British Standard for the sustainable development of communities has
been created by the BSI Group with input from universities and government
departments. It is designed primarily to be used by communities working on
grassroots initiatives, to help people focus on collective action, evaluate
their progress and be more accountable for their activities. BS 8904 is in
draft form and out for consultation. BSI is hoping for comments from local
councils, charities, social enterprises and individuals by 31st August.
