Hi all,

We need your help to stop new high voltage power lines from invading our community.

We need a lot of people to write letters of objection to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) before February 20.

Attached is a template you can use.  Please be sure to sign and date, as well as print your name at the end.  Also, be sure to request that the PUC deny the Transource filing or application to build these new power lines.

Don't know what to write? Don't know much about the issue?
You can check out our website

or look us up on Facebook.

Also, below I have included a few talking points to help get you started.

Thank you for your help!

Peace,
Amy

Talking points:
Use your own words to describe your own opposition to these new power
lines.  These are examples of what I wrote.

---The planned new lines will parallel an existing under utilized right of way and power line.  This should be used before seizing people's property and building new ones.

----The building of new lines will mean destroying the natural environment--clearcutting trees, tearing up prime farmland and destroying the natural beauty of this area, forever changing the landscape and beautiful viewshed.

---The project will negatively impact taxpayer funded farm preservation land.  Our tax money was used to keep these lands from development and will now be destroyed for these unnecessary power lines.

---Adjacent property owners will get no compensation, even though they will be faced with looming transmission towers and high voltage lines, and destruction of the landscape.

---The purpose of the project is to increase "market efficiency" to provide cost savings for consumers in MD, VA and DC.  But the cost savings will be very minimal, estimates average less than 25 cents a month per consumer.
