Case counts in Hennepin and Ramsey counties are spiking sharply upward. So is the surrounding metro. And that is despite 70%+ vaccination rates.
The best bit of news I have seen is a study out of South Africa that may show that Omicron infection protects against Delta infection (but that result could be a side effect of prior covid infection that wasn't controlled for in the study). If that proves true, then Omicron might be a non-voluntary inoculant that goes world wide in 2022 and blocks more deadly variants.
