Happy 25th GT Earth Day Parade 2014!

Earth Day Parade building workshops throughout month of April! We celebrate our 25th year of hosting, organizing and creating a wonderful "spring tonic" of a parade on the streets of Traverse City!

With these next three workshops, at the Great Lakes Children's Museum, we honor the life and time we had w. our friend Gailia (pictured above) as a Earth Day parade artist and volunteer and also Rennie Dengel, one of our fast and fearless, roller-bladers that headed up our Street Parade Patrol crew every year for very many years! Thank you Gailia and Rennie, your spirits continue to weave themselves through our preparations for this parade and the parade itself. You are remembered gratefully and fondly.

April 8, 15 and 22nd, AFTER-SCHOOL TUESDAY WORKSHOPS AT:

Great Lakes Children’s Museum,
13240 S. West Bay Shore Drive (M-22),
Traverse City, MI 49684 www.GreatLakesKids.org

OUR workshops are FREE with a $20 suggested donation per mask/costume—which is put towards the actual costs of the parade (rental fees, materials/supplies that can't be scavenged, liability insurance and permit fees, and stipends for the parade artists and assistants who share their creativity/leadership and help organize the workshops and parade....) HOWEVER, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We are seeking community partners and sponsors to help anyone in need, and offset costs of putting on this community event.

We do ask that you register in advance, so we can be prepared with supplies and materials and extra hands!

ALSO: Deep Blue Water Samba School w. Marc Alderman and others offers a special samba drumming class to prepare for the Earth Day Parade: MONDAY, April 7th, and April 22nd, 7:30pm – 9:00pm This class will be specifically geared towards getting ready for the GT Earth Day Parade on April 26.

Become a parade sponsor!

Volunteer and assist artists at the workshops!

Mark you calendar and Join us on Parade Day, April 26th!
