| Hi Folks
The Transition Town Invercargill group would like to invite anyone who is interested to come along to The Book Stop/Invercargill Environment Centre at 67 Glengarry Cres on Monday 30 April at 7pm to find out more about the Transition Town movement.
We will have a short discussion on what the TTI group has been doing such as an update on the Community Garden and Eco Festival. This will be followed by a discussion on a chapter from the Transition Handbook (1st edition). The chapter we will focus on is Chapter 3 - the chapter explaining resilience.
The discussion will include an indepth look at what resilience is, what life was like before oil and the Transition approach to resilience. We will also look at what's happening in Invercargill that is resilient and what we could do to build more resilience in Invercargill.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. Also Green Drinks is on the last Thursday of each month - in April that is Thurs 26 April at 5,30pm at Zookeepers. This Green Drinks will be asking people to contribute a gardening success story from the last season.
Transition Towns Invercargill also runs a Community Garden on McIvor rd - next to the Council Nursery. If anyone is interested in getting involved with this garden please email for more information. Its a great space and is an allotment style garden ie everyone has their own patch but with plenty of room for communal gardening too.
Cheers The Transition Town Invercargill Team |
