Hi everyone
Just a wee reminder about the Transition Town Community Garden open day and workshops this Sat 17 March.
Numbers are limited so please get in touch if you would be keen to attend one or both these very informative sessions. The Community Garden is located in the old Crops for Southland site next to the Council nursery on McIvor Rd.
Here are the details again:
Sat 17 March
11.30-12.30 picnic and open day - come along for a look and see if you would like to get involved

1pm-2.30 Workshop with Shona Tomlins - prepapring the soil over winter and tunnel house planting for winter. Cost $5, please bring a small amount of compost to plant plants in and plants such as brassicas, silver beet, leeks and garlic to plant in your very own patch in the tunnel house.

3pm-4.30pm Workshop with Shona Tomlins - How to make an aerobic (hot) Compost.
Cost $5. Please bring either brown matter or green matter to add to the compost. This compost will be ready for use in spring and everyone who contributes will get some.

If you would like to attend both workshops the cost is $8. Numbers will be limited so please register by emailing phil...@xtra.co.nz

Shona Tomlins tutors the Agriculture NZ Go Organics course and has a wealth of knowledge about plants and organic gardening.

Cheers
