Hoping our groups might want to be involved in this
as we reflect on the way we express / connect with Heritage here in Southland-
and not just buildings, old machinery... the environmental aspects eg heritage
trees, ways we connect with our landscape from a heritage perspective eg
covenant at Dipton limestone bluffs, Awarua wetlands.

Many of you will be aware that the recent proposal to
organise a Southland Heritage Forum in 2012 has received enthusiastic
support. This is the first of a series of newsletters to keep you informed
of planning progress.
We want as many heritage groups and interests as
possible to be involved - so please forward this email to others who may be
interested.
The address list to date includes individuals and
organisations who were involved in Rural Heritage Day 2009. If you wish
your name to be taken off the list, please let Cathy Macfie know.
