Just thought I would share these garden rhymes from Mike Jones.

Steve.

To Bloom Community Groups.

At the risk of being over-sentimental:

Most of you will have seen or heard the rhyme:

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

The song of the birds for mirth,

Is nearer god's heart in a garden,

Than anywhere else on earth.

Which is actually the fourth verse of a poem called God's Garden by Dorothy Frances Gurney.

You may also have seen on a garden plaque, the fifth verse of that poem:

The dawn of the morn for glory,

The hush of the night for peace,

In the garden at eve says the story,

God walks and his smile brings release.

However, I've just come across another one, by Henry Longfellow, that I haven't seen before:

Kind hearts are gardens,

Kind thoughts are roots,

Kind words are blossoms,

Kind deeds are fruits.

So if you want to do something different, displaying one of these might appeal to you.

Best Regards, Mike Jones.
