It's official - L.A. has banned plastic shopping bags!

This is great news for the environment but it means we'll all have to pay extra for paper bags and should get fabric bags ASAP.

We can sieze this opportunity to teach another workshop or hold a sewing party to create TSFV Shopping Bags.

Maybe we can silk screen our logo on some canvas blanks to spread the news about our community.

I know someone with a silk screen set up. Does anyone else out there have silk screening skills? I did silk screening in high school art classes but was sometime shortly after the Pleistocene Era so I'm more than a bit rusty.

Please respond here to let us know if you'd be interested in this hands-on sewing project.

Those who sew could make bags for those who don't. If you've got denim or canvas weight fabric you can bring it, if not check Freecycle or the remnant bin at your local fabric shop.

Let's put together a full-scale sewing circle project!

See you soon,
