Saturday in the Garden – November 2nd

  • We have a great event lined up for you with Larry Saltzman leading a round-table discussion of the best BARE-ROOT FRUIT TREES to plant in Santa Barbara
  • This will be the last day of our wonderful fall plant sale
  • And we’re hosting a group of student volunteers from UCSB

 

This week – in addition to taking care of the usual garden tasks, we have some special projects lined up for the student group joining us to volunteer this week, including the expansion of our banana-growing capacity.

 

Fundraising – We’ve achieved 20% of the goal for our crowdfunding campaign... please share the flyer (below) and this link (gf.me/u/vwk45w) to encourage people to support us and help secure the future of the garden.

 

Garden Calendar:

Saturdays      – Volunteer work-party {9am-12noon}

November 2  – Guided Discussion – Best Bareroot Fruit Trees to plant locally {10:30-12noon}

                        – Student Group from UCSB {9am-12noon} – new swales and banana circles

November 16 – Student Group from SBCC {9am-12noon} – planting new fruit trees

December 3  – Student Group from Anacapa School {1:30-3:30pm}

December 7  – Propagation workshop with hands-on activities {10am-12noon}

January 4      – Winter Pruning Clinic {10am-12noon}

 

Have you ever considered the possibility of keeping Chickens in the Garden? Check out this Master Gardener event at the Central Library on Sunday Nov. 3rd at 2pm.

Come and join us this Saturday morning – let’s do some gardening!
