Saturday in the Garden – December 7th
This week – a workshop on propagation – Larry Saltzman will be joined by Master Gardener Joan Calder to demonstrate and discuss how to propagate plants, especially fruit trees. This will be a practical, hands-on opportunity to learn the ins and outs of growing new plants from cuttings. You can get your hands dirty, help us prepare for our Spring plant sale, and maybe even take a new plant home with you.
If you can, bring some cuttings of your own to add to the mix.
Meanwhile, we’ve started delivering ripe persimmons to the Food Bank, and have some sheet mulching to do in preparation for the weed season. We had a great time hosting nearly 40 students from Anacapa School during the week, and gave them a good grounding in some of our garden activities.
Garden Calendar:
Saturdays – Volunteer work-party {9am-12noon}
December 7 – Propagation workshop with hands-on activities {10:30am-12noon}
January 4 – Winter Pruning Clinic {10am-12noon}
Come and join us this Saturday morning – there’s always lots to do!
Kind regards,
Hugh
