Local Educators Invited for Q and A/Discussion after film
A Walk In My Shoes touches on the lives and experiences of five educators whose passion for social justice was forged when they were in school. They witness to both overt and subtle forms of injustice that create critical barriers to quality learning and inclusion. Each enacted their beliefs in equity, access, and respect in order to provide a just and quality education for the learners they serve. See what they can do to make education more just and equitable for all. See https://coe.k-state.edu/walk-in-my-shoes/social-justice/For more information, contact Dan Ciaglia, danci...@gmail.com or call 732-284-6312. Free and open to the public. Donations welcome.
Ocean Township Planning Board Meeting
Monday October 7
7 pm
Ocean Twp High School
550 West Park Ave, Ocean Twp [CONFIRM LOCATION DAY OF MEETING AT
oceantwp.org]
From Save32acres.org:
This may be the last chance to have our voices heard concerning the destruction of approximately 3,750 trees that make up the 32-acre Native American woodland that is bordered by NJ coastal wetlands, home to Poplar Brook, recognized and found eligible for listing on State and National Historic Registries for its Native American historic significance, and home to indigenous wildlife. Go to
www.save32acres.org.
At a time when scientists warn of the collapse of the world's ecosystems, building a hotel and gas station on woodland is not wise, and is not solely an Ocean Twp matter. Residents opposed to this development welcome public support. For more information, see
