The 2nd Annual Social Justice Arts Event

Join Pamela Caputo and Create Core Courage (createcorecourage.art) for a night of art, music, poetry, film, and theatre. 

  More than 100 works by local visual and performing artists of all sorts will be showcased at this community-wide event. Meet and mingle with the artists and the activists versed in the issues that inspired them.

Presentation by Claire Garland, director of the Sand Hill Indian Historical Association

Join The Friends of the Crawford House to hear from Claire Garland about the little-known history of Monmouth County's Native American heritage. For centuries before the arrival of Europeans, the area we now call Monmouth County was the territory of the Turtle Clan of Lenape Native Americans.  

Garland will also display artifacts from her collection.




*The Crawford House is a historic property located around the corner from MJ's and Woody's, across the bridge, on the west side of Tinton Ave.

The NJ State Library Multicultural Award-Winning program, "Let's Talk About Race" continues this month. Our topic is "Conversation in Black & White." We will view videos on Daryl Davis, the black man who befriends Klansmen, and Derek Black, a former white supremacist. The conversation will be moderated by Patty Whyte. Light refreshments will be served following the discussion.
