New practical video, launching on Monday 6th July 2015!

Farm Woodlands are often overlooked, and can offer multiple benefits and opportunities for farm businesses. This video highlights some of those opportunities and benefits, which were identified at a recent event on an organic dairy farm in Midlothian, Scotland.

 

Managing Fluke in Fife, Monday 13th July, 1-4pm, Kinaldy Farm, Fife
NSA’s George Milne farms at Kinaldy, which became a Fluke Surveillance Farm in 2013 to trial a range of fluke management measures and help monitor fluke in Fife. We will hear from researchers from the Scottish Fluke Action Group and discuss treatment options, issues George has experienced with resistance, what new measures he’s put in place, whether he’s seen any change in fluke occurrence and what his plans are for the farm going forward. Free of charge to primary producers & £40.00 plus VAT to others. A practical, hands-on session looking at soil management for optimum grassland productivity, including choice of grass & clover species. Speakers include James Bretherton, Agscope, Iain Eadie, Germinal Seeds Ltd and Mikey Sandison, Precision Decisions Ltd. Free of charge to farmers and land managers and £40.00 plus VAT to others. The event will be run in the morning (10am-1pm) and repeated in the afternoon (2pm-5pm). Booking is required as spaces are limited.
