·        Aaron to consider a fall foliage bicycle ride after the election instead of Elm Greenway ride.

·       Possible hike in fall: Historic Indian Trails Park Lane Area, Woodbridge CT. Lynne has a map for Roger. Reach out to Frank Deleo to lead the walk. Lynne will email Frank with the map and suggestion that we do the walk with WRWC.

·       New interest in Transition Town on Facebook - perhaps a new group will start. Common Ground is holding community outreach type of meetings. They have a grant for roundtable discussions. The meetings are virtual. 

REPORTS

·       Walk Nov. 7, Roger and Frank, meet 10 AM Gazebo at Edgerton Park. go by botanical garden on Valley Street involving cement and hardscape.   West River Watershed Group, NH Bioregional Group cosponsor (Roger and Frank Cochran).

·       Garden end of season report. Time and day change.

·       Roger closing up the bookstore and is giving books away by Dec. 31. Rainbow Recycling is moving business out of the Never Ending Bookstore due to decrease of business (Covid related office closing).  Call 203 865 6507 to arrange time with Roger. Sundays 3-5 PM best.

·       Compost - Domingo

·       Full Moon Walk Sunday: on your own.  Oct 31, full moon. Sunset walk 5 PM, every Sunday-park on 3rd  Street

·       Constant Contact: 25% open rate out of 750 membership: Maria, stay with system now 

·       Herbal Friends: still cancelled.  

·       West River Trail Clean-ups on Saturdays:Roger, still doing, woodchips that city provided, knocking down Japanese knotweed, meet East Ramsdell at basketball court or footbridge between Ramsdell and Valley St.

·       New interest in Transition Town on Facebook -  Adam Matlock started a new group in Hamden called The Thousand Garden Project.  Aaron contacted him - Adam is interested in talking about it: access to public land in Hamden for permaculture projects.  Would be happy to spend 15-20 min- plan on next meeting Nov 16- Aaron to follow up with him.   

·       Gardening scheduling: Maria, weather this weekend will be a problem.  Where to plant garlic.  Oats and clover instead of rye grass for green manure. 

·       Conservation Law Foundation: Emily Rand, QRI, research firm in NY.  Domingo forwarded information to people that he knew-EAC, NHEJN, Save the Sound – Curt Johnson, Urban Design League. 

REPORTS

·       Bicycle ride Oct 24: Aaron, Farmington with mural painting Bassett and trail: good turn out, weather was okay, leaves were beautiful, history of trail, new statue

·       Garden productive and ongoing.

·       Compost Domingo: business is picking up, build 4 bins in process before upcoming surgery, hired a new bicyclist.  City and Gather New Haven involved with municipal effort to increase composting.  New grants-started getting organized, name compost coalition, define what the coalition is all about, expectation for groups in coalition, what we can give and limits to achieve what we want.  Started to look for sites, supply criteria for sites, meeting once a month through zoom, Gather New Haven will facilitate, each group will have to direct communication with city given that the city is responsible for grant money and reporting.

·       Announcement; come to Never Ending Bookstore Sat and Sun 3-5 PM and take some books.

·       Garden surplus good to Loaves and Fishes: Lynne Friday AM.
