Hey again folks,

1) Another reminder about this Tuesday's meeting! 6:30-8pm @ NH People's Center (37 Howe St). (Final planning for Nov. 12 rally!!)

2) New Haven Rising is looking for more canvassers (i.e., knocking on doors) for Election Day (also this Tuesday, 11/5) for any hours of the day. There are a handful of Alder candidates that New Haven Rising has endorsed that have challengers and need help getting out the vote in their wards!! This is a great chance to (1) help good candidates get elected, (2) work in solidarity with another NH organization, and (3) talk to people while knocking on doors to learn more about issues affecting New Haven residents. The canvasses launch from a convenient spot—425 College St, right on campus/the Green. If interested, text Sam (614-315-5710) and he can connect you.

In solidarity,
Karen, Melissa & Sam

Hey Sunrise community,

1) A reminder about the ULA Dia de Los Muertos environmental justice-themed parade tomorrow! Starts at 26 Mill St in Fair Haven. Join folks to volunteer at 4pm, or go for the parade around 5pm. Also opportunity to volunteer after the parade at the party/festival! Text Tyler (443-717-1856) if you wanna meet him + others at 4pm to volunteer (eg, face painting! also chance to carry things in the parade).

2) Meeting this Tuesday Nov. 5, 6:30-8pm @ People's Center (37 Howe St) is confirmed! We'll be checking in on outreach re: Nov 12 (one week beyond this Tuesday!!) rally in front of City Hall & talking through other logistics, flyering, etc.

See you Saturday and Tuesday!!
In solidarity,
Karen, Melissa & Sam

Hey all,

Glad to see folks at the meeting last night! Meeting notes are here, for those who couldn't make it. We're planning on meeting again next Tuesday, Nov 5 at 6:30pm -- stay tuned for location (likely NH People's Center again).

1) On 11/12 rally next steps
  • If you signed up to reach out to other groups about (1) speaking at or (2) just attending the Nov 12 rally, that's on the outreach spreadsheet. Go forth with your outreach and update the spreadsheet! This email template (thx Tyler & Karen!) can help with how to go about the outreach.
  • Will be flyers/visuals soon! (Thx Sarah!)
  • Come to the meeting next week to talk logistics & planning we still need to figure out!
2) Reminder that a group of us are going tonight ~8-10pm to help ULA prep (@ 26 Mill St) for their Saturday parade. Text Sam (614-315-5710) if you're interested. There should be space in cars if you'd like a ride. A group went last night, too. This is a great chance to work in solidarity with a partner group!

Other updates & events below!
In solidarity,
Karen, Melissa & Sam
