Sustainable Bungay is a transition initiative - a community led response to climate change and peak oil. This google group should help us all stay in touch, if you join the group you'll receive a few messages every day.

The following tips should help you make best use of the group but if you need further help google provide extensive support pages

Anyone can view the group but only members can post, upload files, and view the list of members. All posts are moderated which should mean that the spammers can't get through and fill everyone's in-boxes with rubbish, but it won't mean that group managers will tamper with genuine posts!

When using the google group there are a few things we can do that will help to keep things clear and ensure that the group is useful, so please:

Stick to the subject of the discussion thread - start a new thread if you need to.
It's better to visit the group to post messages as replies from your own email account will probably contain a lot of superfluous information and might loose formatting, making them difficult to read.

When you sign-up you can choose how to receive notifications of group activity. You might decide that you'd like notification of every message posted (which is the default), or opt for a Digest Email meaning that once a day you'll be sent a single summary of all messages posted in the previous 24 hours. All messages from Transition Bungay will come with the following prefix: [Transition-Bungay], because of this you should be able to create a 'rule' within your e-mail account so that all messages from the group are diverted into a separate folder, thus removing clutter from your inbox and helping you to keep a clear record.
