 Dear All,

For the attention of law-enforcers and authorities who continue to watch our deadly Global Incineration Event with their fingers in front of their faces.

As well as those of us who want to retain a habitable planet. Like King Charles who advised, in his co-authored Climate Change Ladybird book of 2017,

"We have been mistreating our planet and abusing its natural systems....We have the power to put her on life support and we must surely start the emergency procedures without further procrastination.

"If we look after the Earth only then will the Earth look after us." 👑

Please authorities and those with our money-

leave behind the delusional Titanic Lies of the last 50 years and board the (decarbonised ark of safety) the  Good Ship Lollipop.

WHY THE SILENCE from leadership?  Life on Earth is being annihilated.

PLANS ARE OUT OF DATE. Please see info below from Greenpeace and British Antarctic Survey.

PLANS  FOR OUR WELL-BEING AND PROTECTION ARE OVERDUE.   Like the Bangladesh Climate Change Resilience Fund (BCCRF) - where's the UK's?

Where's BCPs fund for our well-being and protection?  Outdated plans (corporate, neighbourhood etc) are NOT ENOUGH to protect well-being as multiple systems fail.

ALL HANDS ON DECK.

Biden's warnings and green plans, various court cases, UN chief Antonio Guterres's desperate pleas to us all  6.2.23 (and to deadly corrupt industries) to help cool our beautiful but badly overheating Mother Earth

while Antonio is also telling us to DISRUPT

to protect our only home in the universe.

Please listen to his speech.  Please publicise and share his speech.

Plan for our well-being and security by return please.

  Thanks,

Susan Chapman - from our warm retrofit and planet-friendly, wildlife garden here; one of  Dorset Greener Homes  (visits welcome by arrangement).

Subject: NO GAS NO GREENWASH NO NUKE Email response requested by return please. HOUSING CRISIS and HOUSING HUMANITY CRISIS

Dear  Tobias Ellwood,

Email response by return needed please.

I’m writing to you as a constituent of Bournemouth East, and in support of Crisis’ call for the UK Government to increase Local Housing Allowance (LHA), also known as housing benefit, so that it covers the true cost of rent.

Thankyou for your help in housing those fleeing carnage and for your phone call early last year.   (Details here omitted concerning our visitors and many unanticipated problems).

Please note that Ukrainian families may also be anxious about the provision of safe, clean water.  I don't know if this dates from the Chernobyl disaster of 1986 or from lack of infrastructure but Ukrainian water I'm told, has to be boiled five times.

And concerning failure of provision of loos.

Thank goodness Caroline Lucas is trying to get us all some lavatories! I would be happy with compost ones, as would many of us aware of over-use of precious water!

But we are now all subject to a chronically neglected and  cursed system that fails to look after future prospects as soils fail. As noted by Michael Gove in 2017.

This frightful neglect has been disgracefully unaddressed by HMG/BCP as ecosystems collapse.
FACT CHECK
No evidence that Just Stop Oil ‘bankrolls’ the Labour Party

Rishi Sunak has claimed that the Labour Party is being “bankrolled” by the trade unions and the protest group Just Stop Oil.

How many more lies?

Corrupt industries have lied to humanity for over fifty years and even now arrogantly continue mis-selling their deadly products. These industries continue to destroy the living world upon which we all depend.

These industries  are allowed to get away with genocide as the Climate Genocide Act Now group pointed out to Bournemouth Police 20.11.19 (Anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials). The Crime Management Unit have our dossier but fail to act as the biosphere fails.

Instead the police arrest protestors who don't like to see their only home destroyed. The justice system criminalises them and democracy is failed as the public do not get to hear the reasons for passionate disruption.

Please note that the UN Sec Gen

      NOW ADVISES DISRUPTION       🌎

             NOW ADVISES DISRUPTION       🌍

                   NOW ADVISES DISRUPTION      🌏

  - for the sake of humanity's survival on the only known habitable planet.

This has not been shared on the BBC - or on HMG websites- with the respect and priority it deserves.

Please address the widespread Environmental Illiteracy of His Majesty's disrespectful governance. You have (then Prince- now King) Charles'  Ladybird Book of 2017 I gave you at the time.

As Charles has said at the end of his co-authored Climate Change Ladybird book,

"We have been mistreating our planet and abusing its natural systems ....we have the power to put her on life support and must surely start the emergency procedures without further procrastination.

" If we look after the Earth, only then will the Earth be able to look after us."

The shocking dangerous data has been clear for many years as you know.

Yet 5th columnists have been allowed to disrupt and muddle public awareness.  NONE of our planning systems (eg BCP's corporate Plan/ neighbourhood plans) will provide for us all in the even more difficult years to come as harvests vanish, resources are fought over, pollinators die and  stupid projects like building on green belt, the nonsense at Talbot Heath and Wessex Fields are allowed to see off our vanishing wildlife. .

Sadly the overdue Public Information Programme for our well-being, safety and survival is NOT YET  in place.  Despite multiple requests over the decades.

There are no warnings in the libraries nor on HMG website, including your own.

Nor do we see the "FINAL WARNING" of Mark Lynas's 2020- updated "SIX DEGREES",

     the speeches of Biden,
the big warning WAKE UP shout of 6.2.23 of the  UN Sec Gen,
               the NOAA scientists,
hundreds of environmentally informed citizens in multiple campaigns
                   and the #Fridays4Future generation.

And where is our climate fund, as Bangladesh's Climate Change Resilience Fund (BCCRF) helps save their beleaguered country, unlike poor Pakistan?

Beleaguered Malta I note was heroically saved by amazing resilience, good planning in the face of insuperable odds, great sacrifice  and courage in WW2.

But there is NO SUCH FEISTY programme to protect us as our world disintegrates.

A wet flannel response to a roaring Grenfell is unacceptable.  Humanity is being subjected to carbon bombing on an accelerating level. Taxpayer money is funding our own extinction.

This must be addressed without further delay. It would help if Rishi Sunak took the crises seriously, stops his private anachronistic, carbonic flights, protect Mother Nature in all planning decisions and call for Transition Town/Carbon Drawdown  policies at this time of Dunkirk.

The word EMERGENCIES is the clue.

But business-as-usual is clearly the game as our world collapses, rising irreversible changes as the Happy Holocene becomes the Awful Anthropocene.

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THOSE IN AUTHORITY WHO ARE STILL AUTHORISING tax -payer money to fund our annihilation?  WE DID NOT VOTE FOR EXTINCTION.

Protective decarbonising policies are very overdue indeed as the meticulously- kept, iconic  Charles David Keeling graph (he even missed the birth of one of his children when catching the daily data-  I don't suppose Mrs Keeling was over-impressed).

THIS DATA MUST APPEAR for all of us as we step up to the frighteningly delayed call to abandon the deadly ship of Titanic Failure.

Instead humanity must  take to the Back to the Future lifeboats of the Good  (Decarbonised, Electrified, Solarised/ Sailing)   Ship Lollipop.

All of us should have a safe, decent home we can afford. But spiralling rents and the cost of living are making it impossible for people afford their rent, to heat their homes and to eat.

LHA has been frozen since 2020, but rents are increasing at their fastest pace in 16 years. Maintaining this freeze while rents spiral out of control is forcing people into homelessness.

The growing gap between LHA and the cheapest rents is leaving people with a shortfall of over £950 a year on average for one-bed properties and even more for two and three beds – over £1,500 and £2,300 respectively.

In the whole of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, only 3% of properties listed for rent in the last year were affordable to people on housing benefit.

Without action from the UK government, more and more people will be pushed to the brink and into homelessness. Crisis' research in December found that nearly one million low-income households feared eviction in the coming months. This is simply unacceptable.

And as rents rise, people already living without a decent and safe home are trapped, finding it even harder to leave homelessness behind.

I’m calling on you today to write to the Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, to ask him to use the upcoming spring budget to restore LHA so that it covers the cheapest third of rents in an area.

If you’d like more information, you can also contact Crisis directly at camp...@crisis.org.uk.

It’s essential that the UK Government takes action to stop more people being forced into homelessness during this cost of living crisis. I hope I can count on your support, and I look forward to your reply.

You can reply to this email by hitting ‘reply’. I’ve also included my email address below.

Yours sincerely,

Here's the latest from those who saved the oxygenation of the oceans (by keeping the krill/whale excreta/phytoplankton) symbiosis. Phytoplankton makes up to 70% of our planetary oxygen .  We marched for wonderful Greenpeace- thanks! Had a lovely whale cake on our 10th anniversary thanks to my sister, an excellent cook.

KINDLY ADVISE the public of this success.  Along with Margaret Thatcher's help for poorer nations when the lying CFC industry nearly cost us our ozone layer (Montreal Protocol 1987). And the brilliant whstleblowing of the British Antarctic Survey- who continue to blow the whistle today. (THANKS dudes & dudesses).

Over the past 50 years, the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula has been one of the most rapidly warming parts of the planet. This warming is not only restricted to the land but can also be noted in the Southern Ocean. Upper ocean temperatures to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula have increased over 1°C since 1955. It has now been established that the Antarctic Circumpolar Current is warming more rapidly than the global ocean as a whole. Studying climate change in Antarctica is important because it enables scientists to predict more accurately future climate change and provide information to politicians and policy makers.

The warming of the Antarctic Peninsula is causing changes to the physical and living environment of Antarctica. The distribution of penguin colonies has changed as the sea ice conditions alter. Melting of perennial snow and ice covers has resulted in increased colonisation by plants. A long-term decline in the abundance of Antarctic krill in the SW Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean may be associated with reduced sea ice cover. Large changes have occurred in the ice cover of the Peninsula. Many glaciers have retreated and ice shelves that formerly fringed the Peninsula have been observed to retreat in recent years and some have collapsed completely.

Brussels – Greenpeace will take the European Commission to the European Court of Justice over the inclusion of fossil gas and nuclear energy in the EU’s list of sustainable investments, the taxonomy. The move comes as the Commission has rejected a formal request made by Greenpeace in September to abandon the greenwashing of fossil gas and nuclear power.
Greenpeace EU sustainable finance campaigner Ariadna Rodrigo said: “We will fight this fake green label in court. We will study the Commission’s response, but their relentless hypocrisy about fossil fuels and nuclear power is pure greenwashing, and we can prove it. The same polluters that Ursula von der Leyen wants to reward with a sustainable label are the ones responsible for many of the hardships people face today, like the cost of living crisis and the climate emergency.”
On 8 September 2022, eight Greenpeace organisations in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Central and Eastern Europe and the Greenpeace European Unit sent a formal request for internal review to the Commission. This request argued that the inclusion of gas and nuclear in the taxonomy violates the Taxonomy Regulation, the European Climate Law, and the EU’s obligations under the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
On 9 February 2023, the Commission replied, declining Greenpeace’s request to withdraw gas and nuclear from the taxonomy. Greenpeace will now file a lawsuit at the European Court of Justice, in April 2023. The Austrian government is also suing the Commission for its greenwashing of gas and nuclear power.
Arguments
Greenpeace argues the Commission’s inclusion of fossil gas and nuclear energy in the taxonomy violates several EU laws, and relied on procedural mistakes and shortcomings. The following is a summary of some of Greenpeace’s arguments against the gas and nuclear activities which have been included in the taxonomy:
Regarding fossil gas:
The Commission set a threshold for carbon emissions from fossil gas power generation of 270 grams of CO2 equivalent per kilowatt hour. This is not compliant with existing EU law. The Taxonomy Regulation, the EU Climate Law, and the 2015 Paris Agreement allow for no more than 100 grams of CO2 equivalent per kilowatt hour.
Investments in new fossil gas power generation cannot be considered “transitional”, as required by the Taxonomy Regulation, because such plants could remain in operation beyond the EU’s 2050 deadline to achieve the energy transition. This also contravenes the EU Climate Law.
The Commission wrongly argues that the inclusion of gas in the taxonomy is allowable because there are no “technologically and economically feasible low-carbon alternatives”, but such alternatives do exist, such as wind and solar power.
The inclusion of fossil gas in the taxonomy creates a competitive advantage for gas and will thus hinder the EU’s legally-binding objectives of transitioning away from fossil fuels.
Regarding nuclear:
Nuclear energy does not comply with the “Do No Significant Harm” principle of the Taxonomy Regulation. Nuclear energy’s life-cycle emissions, uranium mining, high water usage, warm water discharge, and large-scale generation of radioactive waste all violate this principle. Nuclear power generation therefore undermines several other objectives of the Taxonomy Regulation.
The Commission incorrectly assumes that nuclear energy is an enabling activity for the energy transition, when in fact it leads to the curtailment of renewables.
The Commission wrongly designates nuclear energy as a climate mitigation activity, i.e. one which helps the EU to achieve its emissions reductions targets. In fact, investments in nuclear energy take so long to come online that they would both delay the phase-out of coal plants and hinder the development of renewables.
Nuclear energy is also not a climate adaptation technology, i.e. one which is resilient to the increased risk of adverse events caused by the climate crisis. Nuclear energy is in fact heavily impacted by adverse climate events, such as heatwaves and droughts.
The Commission ignored the possibility that a nuclear plant may be subject to terrorist or military attack, and that these events may be the source of major accidents and related pollution.
For more technical and legal information about Greenpeace’s arguments against the inclusion of gas and nuclear in the EU taxonomy, please read our February 2023 media briefing.
