Dear Schools Forum,

Sorry, I'm unable to be present at the remote meeting on Monday.

I do not see any mention of the priority of safeguarding as our incinerating, over-carbonated world burns to the point of no return. The latest appalling scientific report is unreported on official websites. Economists with flawed data it seems have been influencing policy makers. Economists Prof Nic Stern of the Stern Review (climate change is a market failure 2006) and Prof Steve Keen sound the warnings.

As was pointed out last night fossil fuel lobbyists smashed the spirit of COP26- which the UK hosted.

It's a disaster. 418 parts per million CO2 (and rising) in our atmosphere is unsafe. 350 ppm would be safer.

As yet NO PUBLIC PROTECTION is in place (as was rolled out during the pandemic).

Deep harm continues to our planet, the biodiversity and ecosystems upon which we all depend, the future welfare of pupils and the effect on their mental and physical well-being as things deteriorate. Unless we can Salvage and Survive in time.

It is imperative that we (I'm a retired teacher) must do all we can to protect our youngsters from harvest failures and the other anticipated horrors of climate breakdown.

I'm looking at the BCP document Councillor's Workbook on Acting on Climate Change Sept/Oct 2022

I understand Dr Matt Montgomery has now left.

We all please need a summary for the public who have paid for the document:

(page 7) stability is no more ...conflict

page 15 overshooting earth's ability to cope

p 19 global ecological collapse is imminent

p69 currently no guarantee of a future at all

p87 little visibility of the leadership in acting on decisions....

Safeguarding our children from global ecological collapse is so very overdue.

But NO PLANS for their wellbeing and safety are in place from government.

This is so very wrong. Please raise this beyond-urgent matter at Any Other Business.
